REQUIREMENTS

    1. Commitment to establish effective residence in Andorra for a minimum of 90 days per calendar year.
    2. Proof of sufficient financial means, in accordance with the requirements established by regulations, to enable the applicant and his/her dependants, or those of his/her spouse or stable partner, to reside in the Principality of Andorra for the entire duration of the residence permit.

DOCUMENTS

All documents must be translated into Catalan, Spanish or French, legalised according to Andorra guidelines and authenticated with The Hague Apostille.

    1. Duly completed application for authorisation of residence without work.
    2. Original and copy of valid passport and identity card.
    3. Criminal record certificate from the country of origin, the country of your nationality, as well as the countries of residence.
    4. An identification photo (35x45mm).
    5. Birth certificate.
    6. Birth certificate of children and vaccination booklet (if applicable). 
    7. To have obtained a favourable resolution from the ministry in charge of the economy to be considered as a person who, in order to carry out his work, does not require a specific geographical location and uses telecommunications and technology, in accordance with the regulations.
    8. Documentary proof that he/she is the owner or tenant of a property in Andorra.
    9. Documentary proof of marital status. 
    10. Medical insurance and proof of good heath of all family members. 

PROCESS

Below you can find a general list of the immigration process:

    9. The first renewal of the permit in Andorra is for 2 years and the second renewal is for 3 years. After 7 years you can request the permanent residency, valid for 10 years. 
    10. It is possible to apply for Andorran citizenship after living in the country for at least 20 years, or 10 years if you have completed your studies in the country. 

CITIZENSHIP

There are three ways to become a citizen of Andorra:

      1. Naturalisation: Andorran citizenship is granted if you have legally resided in the country for 20 years, or 10 years if you have completed your studies in Andorra.
      2. Descent: A child born in Andorra automatically obtains the nationality if the parents are residents of the country. 
      3. Marriage: You can apply for citizenship after 3 years of cohabitation in Andorra with an Andorran spouse.

      3. During that period, you must pass an exam on the Andorran history, geography, and the Catalan language.

INFORMATION

    1. All official documents issued by authorities of foreign states must be presented either authenticated with the apostille of the Hague Convention or duly legalised.
    2. You must register with the Common of the parish in which you reside within a maximum of 1 month from the date of granting of the immigration permit and justify such registration within the same period.
