To this amount, at least 100% of the IPREM for each family member equivalent to\u00a0\u20ac7,000 must be added.<\/li>\n<li>Justification of accommodation in Spain. You can either acquire or rent a property.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Subscribe to a medical insurance that is valid for at least 12 months in Spain.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a medical certificate confirming the absence of any dangerous or contagious disease. It is important to note that all documents issued in a foreign language will have to be officially translated into Spanish, and some of the documents will also have to be legalised with the The Hague Apostille.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>International passport (copies of all pages of current and of previous passport with travel stamps and obtained visas).<\/li>\n<li>National passport or a national identification card.<\/li>\n<li>Birth certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Family booklet, marriage certificate or divorce certificate, according to your situation.<\/li>\n<li>Police certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Medical insurance valid in Spain that covers all health risks in the country for at least 12 months.<\/li>\n<li>Medical certificate attesting the good health of the applicant.<\/li>\n<li>Spanish NIE (Foreign Identity Number). The NIE is a unique personal number that the Spanish administration assigns to individuals who would like to establish themselves in Spain. This visa will allow you to travel to Spain and proceed with the following procedures related to your residency.\u00a0Your first residence card will be issued within two months.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The first Spanish residence permit is valid for 1 year and the following two are valid for a period of 2 years each.<\/li>\n<li>After residing in Spain for 5 years, you can apply for a permanent residence, valid for 10 years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Finally, after living in Spain for 10 years, you can apply for Spanish citizenship by naturalisation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;CITIZENSHIP&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;citizenship&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>SPAIN: CITIZENSHIP<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that generally Spain does not permit dual citizenship. However, there are exceptions to this rule. The\u00a0Spanish Government allows dual citizenship to nationals coming from Latin-American countries (where Spanish or Portuguese is one of the official languages), Andorra, Portugal, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea and Sephardic Jews.<\/p>\n<p>There are four paths you can take to become a citizen of Spain:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Obtaining Spanish citizenship by descent, origin, and birth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A child has the right to obtain the Spanish nationality in the following cases:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>If one of the two parents is a Spanish national.<\/li>\n<li>If both parents are foreigners, but at least one of them was born in Spain and the child was also born in Spain.<\/li>\n<li>If both parents are stateless or unknown.<\/li>\n<li>If the child is adopted by Spanish nationals before the age of 18.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>2. Obtaining Spanish citizenship by proving the lineage of Sephardic Jews.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals descended from Sephardic Jews who were expelled from Spain during the 15th century can obtain Spanish citizenship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Obtaining Spanish citizenship by marriage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A foreigner that is married to a Spanish citizen can obtain the Spanish citizenship if:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>The couple has been married for at least 1 year.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant is a widow and has not separated from the Spanish spouse at the time of the passing. The couple must have also been married for at least 1 year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>4. Obtaining Spanish citizenship by\u00a0naturalisation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spanish citizenship can be obtained after 10 years of legal residence in Spain.
