SPAIN: REQUIREMENTS

To qualify under the “Digital Nomad” immigration program in Spain, the applicant will have to fulfil the following conditions:

1. 1. 1. To be able to carry the work remotely. Additionally, it is required to justify you have been working by distance at least 3 months prior to your application.
      2. Justify to have sufficient financial means to be able to support yourself during your stay in Spain. 
      3. Have obtained a degree from a recognised university, business school or justify at least 3 years of pertinent professional experience.

SPAIN: DOCUMEMTS

All documents in a foreign language will have to be translated into Spanish by an official translator. Some of the documents will also have to be legalised according to Spanish local guidelines. Below is a general list of documents to be prepared for the application under the “Digital Nomad” visa in Spain:

      2. National ID.
      3. Diplomas.
      4. Police certificate.
      5. Birth certificate.
      6. Marriage certificate and/or family booklet, if applicable.
      7. Medical insurance covering all health risks in Spain during the stay.
      8. Work agreement, payslips and confirmation documents giving the consent to be able to carry out the work remotely in Spain.
      9. Documentary proof of financial means.
      10. Bank attestation and bank statements.

The following is a step-by-step general process with regards to an immigration application under the “Digital Nomad” program in Spain:

      2. Based on your situation, we will assist you with the compilation of the documents that is required for your application. It is important to note that documents issued in a foreign language will have to be translated and some documents will have to be legalised.       3. We will guide you through the process of subscribing to a medical insurance that will be valid in Spain.
      4. Our team will assist to obtain a N.I.E (Foreign Identity Number) in Spain, bank account opening as well as renting or acquiring a property in the country.
      5. Once your application file is complete, you will be able to present it to the Spanish consular authorities in your place of residence. If your application is approved, you will obtain a national Spanish visa valid for up to 12 months.
      6. You will have to travel to Spain in order to validate your visa and obtain a first residency permit, valid for 1 year.
      7. The residency permit is subject to renewal and you may extend your stay up to 5 years.
      8. After residing in Spain for 5 years, you can apply for permanent status in Spain (which is a 10-year residence card).
      9. Finally, it is possible to apply for Spanish citizenship by naturalisation after living in Spain for 10 years.
