  2. Extraordinary naturalisation applies to foreigners who have been residing in Brazil long-term. The applicant must have resided in Brazil for a minimum of 15 years with CRNM with permanent classification.
  3. Provisional naturalisation applies to foreign minors in Brazil who have obtained a CRNM with permanent classification before the age of 10. There is no minimum period of residence to apply for provisional naturalisation, as long as the foreigner has permanent residence. Since the foreign national applicant is a minor, naturalisation must be applied for by his/her legal guardian or legal representative.
Once an alien applicant reaches the age of 18, they may convert their provisional naturalisation into permanent naturalisation.
